'Another Prodigal'

'Ponder God's Majesty'

What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray and gets lost, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountain and go in search of the one that is lost?

And if it should be that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not get lost.
~Matthew 18:12-13 (Amplified Bible)

I can not begin to tell you the depth of overwhelming Praise and Thankfulness I have in my heart for the Grace and Mercy of God's enduring Love for his People. Even Paul the apostle prays, emphasizes and urges all of believers in Christ Jesus to grasp on how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. He desires us to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that (we all) may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
(Ephesians 3: 14-19)

I sit here with no words to even tell of all that my parents and family had endured in past years. A total of 20 to be exact, as we all watched my brother live out his life with all his strongholds; drugs, alcohol, women, hanging around wrong influences, being on the run, running from God, being homeless on the streets, in and out of prison and with that came even hard sentencing. Even close to loosing his own life (death) being bound by sin. The lists goes on...

But so does God's Love, Grace and Mercies that leads us into Forgiveness. This list goes on and on for us too... with no END!! So what do we choose to believe in? The "sight or view of our own eyes" of our loved ones doom when they are shackled down with their sin? Or, that which we know in our hearts and spirits which is the Truth that "God will never leave us nor will he ever forsake us." This is said 5 times in his word. He promises this to us twice in Deuteronomy (3:6 and again in 8), in Joshua 1:5, 1 Kings 8:57 and Hebrews 13:5. This is a promise we can believe in, even when it comes to those in our lives we love so dearly!

If ever I learned anything from watching my parents and family go through this dark time which seemed like an eternity. My parents never ceased praying. Never did they give up on their faith of trusting the unknown. Faith is not just what we know, or know to be the truth. When Real Faith comes in...it is when we have no choice but to TRUST!! Trust God, Wait, Be Still, Pray, Wait some more, Endure, even suffer a little or even a lot. Then you may have to start this same process all over again. We Must Trust God with the unknown for our lives and even our loved ones lives.

Jesus said, "I tell you most solemnly that anyone who chooses a life of sin is trapped in a dead-end life and is, in fact, a slave. A slave is a transient, who can't come and go at will. The Son, though, has an established position, the run of the house. So if the Son sets you free, you are free through and through.
~ John 8:36 (The Message)

I am here today to Testify, My Brother has been walking a life of success for not only by or in the "worlds standards" of holding a job, living on his own, paying bills, and healthy. He is also enjoying his life of deliverance. Deliverance of all that had held him down of living his life of freedom in a Relationship with Christ Jesus. I also will be proudly and joyfully seeing my brother this weekend along with family. We will all be sitting at a dinner to celebrate my brother's accomplishments of graduating from a program called "Teen Challenge".

Thank you Lord for your promises, your word is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
(Hebrews 4:12)

This testimony I shared was just one in Millions of God's faithfulness to his word. His promises never are broken. His Love is passed on to Generations and Generations, cause it never ceases nor does his love end for his people. He hears our cries from heaven, knows our deepest prayer request and desires for those who need to be right with God. Don't stop, don't give up PLEASE (P.U.S.H)... "PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS!" Every prayer we pray, are indeed "seeds planted" in the heavenly realm. We may not see our prayers answered for many years...but in due season, you bet we will one day see indeed a "Fruitful Harvest!!"

Brother giving Testimony. 2008

So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free. ~ John 8:36 (Amplified Bible)

"This of course is my own experience watching my brother's life and families Testimony unfold. You ought to hear my brother's version...
much more compelling." :)

sitting here now for awhile after reading this...trying to figure out what to say...but nothing could be more powerful or moving then what you have said. Matt's very lucky to have you for a sister. Not only did he need something to believe in, he needed someone to believe in him.

  2. I'm so glad you shared his story. God can accomplish great things. I know your brother must have a very powerful testimony and through Christ will be able to help many others going through the same things he struggled with.

  3. Awesome and encouraging testimony. You can bet I will be sharing this with many who are in the midst of this same storm and are weary of calling out to the one lost. Only the voice of our Savior can be heard through the storm, this is true, but He does speak through "the body of Christ" and this is evidence of the power He gives to us when we call on Him.
Bless you for sharing such a powerful reminder of this...
    Prayerfully and gratefully,
    Cindy Leigh
